The bare skin foundation of your dreams – Givenchy Teint Couture Balm: Review

Givenchy Teint Couture Balm

“In colours and texture, there is a constant search for transparency, comfort and radiance… I love intangible substances which reveal light, the very expression of the complexion.” – Nicolas Degennes

Less is more. Lo and behold the foundation of your dreams – the Givenchy Teint Couture Balm. With the texture of a BB cream, coverage somewhat like a foundation, this foundation balm is sure to provide you with skincare-like comfort unlike any other!

The Teint Couture Balm is a non-greasy blurring foundation balm with coverage less than a foundation. It provides light to medium coverage and is buildable upon layering. The foundation balm evens out the skin texture by blurring away features and diffusing light with its diamond powder. I personally love how weightless it feels on the skin without any tinge of oiliness!
More specifically, the product contains Light & Blur complex which diffuses photoluminescent particles; reflective diamond powder encapsulated in a transparent polymer blurs away imperfections and “desaturates” dull complexions. It also feels hydrating and comfortable for it has “hydro-magnets” which I presume to be humectants that hold water inside the skin layers. Acting also as an anti-oxidant shield, there are extracts of Jasmine flower and Vitamin E to reinforce the skin’s defences and SPF15 to prevent photoaging.
Packaging wise, the product is contained in a rectangular plastic tube with a gorgeous metal prism cap, significant of the luxury brand itself! The chic and minimalist design of the Teint Couture Balm indeed recalls the codes of the Givenchy couture! I love the metal cap with the Givenchy logo for it brings out the luxury in it.
There are altogether nine shades:
  • No. 1 Nude Porcelain
  • No. 2 Nude Shell
  • No. 3 Nude Sand
  • No. 4 Nude Beige – my shade
  • No. 5 Nude Honey
  • No. 6 Nude Gold
  • No. 7 Nude Ginger
  • No. 8 Nude Amber
  • No. 9 Nude Petal
You can kind of see that the product when dispensed is in a texture resembling that of a BB cream, while it blends effortlessly into the skin.
As mentioned, the coverage is light-medium as it was able to cover and blur minor imperfections but not my huge red acne, especially on my forehead.
My overall thoughts?
It’s quite an amazing formula in my opinion because I truly appreciate foundations with very light textures as foundation tend to weigh down on the skin towards the end of the day.
The Teint Couture Balm, in terms of longevity, lasted around 6-8 hours on me before my flaws started reappearing. I do like that it doesn’t make my skin produce oil in respect to a lot of mattifying foundations I’ve tried out there. However, with a lighter texture comes a lighter coverage. I do wish that the coverage was a little heavier so that I can skip my concealer, hehe.
The Teint Couture Balm retails for S$74 at Sephora Singapore and other Givenchy counters in leading departmental stores.
What do you think of this? Yay or nay?

Create yourself and be gorgeous! ♡
