Your hairstyle can make or break your overall look, don’t you agree?
Occasionally, I like to switch up my hair style to refresh my look. Thanks to the invitation from The Comb Singapore, I got to change my hair colour and treat my dry/unruly tresses.
About The Comb
The Comb came about when Creative Director Rina Kil and her partners decided to start a hair salon with a “straight-to-the-point” problem-solving concept. The name was inspired by Rina’s family heirloom – a Mother-of-pearl comb by a late relative who brought her through childhood in Seoul and told her to “Galida (Comb) your hair and show the world what you’ve got.”

In my opinion, The Comb provides fuss-free solutions for your hair. This is a place I will visit if I need a quick hair fix. I was delighted to walk out of The Comb with fabulous-looking hair as compared to my previous dull brassy tresses – I must say they did a good job for me!

My Experience
I was greeted by the friendly staff upon reaching the cosy space and was 5 minutes early. However, I was a little disappointed that I had to wait for my stylist for a good 15-20 minutes. Luckily, my sister’s office was only 2 shops away, so I went to disturb her while waiting.

Again, I was greeted by the friendly receptionist, Emilyn, as she prepared some snacks and TWG tea for me. Senior stylist, Chantal, then proceeded to assess my hair condition. We decided to go with changing my hair colour accompanied with a treatment process.

As my previous bleached hair grew out quite a fair bit, Chantal decided to lighten and even out the grown-out portions before colouring. I’m normally very easy-going when it comes to my hair colour, so I went with her suggestion of having an ash violet colour.

My hair was first lightened then washed. My favourite part of any hair makeover is hair wash. I love it when someone washes my hair. It feels so relaxing and therapeutic. If only the hair wash is accompanied by a head massage!
Anyway, after the hair wash, Chantal proceeded to work the colour into my hair before my hair was washed, treated, then styled. During the whole time, I was chatting with Chantal here and there, and spent my time catching up my K-drama (I was watching Romance Is A Bonus Book then). Fast-forward 3 hours later, my hair was done!

The Results
Talk is cheap, so I’ll let the Before-and-After photos take over:

Isn’t it a drastic change?! I was pleasantly surprised at how the colour turned out! It’s definitely a lift from my previous hair condition and my hair felt softer and much more manageable thereafter.
