Recently, I have been trying a couple of new skincare products because my skin condition feels rather stabilised. One of the product range includes the latest premium skincare line from The Face Shop – the Myeonghan Miindo Heaven Grade Ginseng Range.
You might be wondering, why am I using anti-aging products at age 23? As the term “anti-aging” suggests, it is the prevention of aging that we are targeting, and it should start when you are young (by young I don’t meet teenage days, I mean when you are in your mid-late 20s). Nevertheless, since this range is targeting wrinkle care as well, I have gotten my mother to try out the essence for review purposes.
Included in the range is the Myeonghan Miindo Heaven Grade Ginseng Hydrogel Eye Patch which I have tried for 2 weeks now, twice a week. Housed in a gold packaging are highly concentrated hydrogel eye patches with 24K gold that helps promote skin elasticity and intensively nourishes the wrinkle-prone skin around the eyes. There are 60 eye patches inside which will last you for a few months if your usage pattern is similar to mine. It also comes with a handy spatula-like spoon to help you retrieve the eye patches that are placed in an yin-yang shape from the tub.
If you’re wondering why does the spoon look frosted, I keep my hydrogel eye patches in the fridge because I always love using my masks (lip, eye, face) cold, for the relaxing and refreshing sensation. I wouldn’t say there are dramatic results from using these eye patches but the eye patches made the skin around my eyes feel more radiant and hydrated. Even though it is made with ginseng, the product has a calming floral scent to it, so you don’t have to worry about it smelling all herbal.
Other than the eye patches, I had the opportunity to try out the Myeonghan Miindo Heaven Grade Ginseng Essence. It comes with a gold packaging as well, with a pump which I really appreciate (you know my love for products that come with pumps). This essence is said to provide skin resilience from deep within, at the same time, improving fine lines and wrinkles as it contains the wild autogenous power of 6 years old Heaven Grade Ginseng, Natural Pine Mushrooms and with 24K Gold Essence infused.
Similar to the eye patches, this essence smells heavenly! It has a rather strong (but pleasant) floral scent that even my mum loves! As you can see, it has a viscous and semi-translucent texture and I realised you can see the 24K gold flakes when you dispense the product! It has a light texture as well that gets absorbed really quickly, leaving a slightly sticky feeling before it dries to a smooth finish.
Other than trying this product myself, I made my mum (she’s in her early 50s) try this essence out for 2 weeks and she loves it! She’s someone who likes to use up her current products before she opens new ones so when I disrupted her routine with this, she felt a little uncomfortable even though she agreed to try it out for me.
Some of the things she said when I asked about her thoughts on the essence:
It is very light, and smells very good.
It makes my skin very radiant and smooth.
The essence hydrates my skin and makes it look really shiny and healthy!
She literally fell in love with the essence after using it, not because it was given to her. As you can see from her skincare stash, she indeed, has a whole range of skincare products for different purposes and the fact that the essence never left her stash, really shows her deep love for it now! I even asked her if she was going back to her current one, but instead, she asked if I could give this essence to her! Well, of course I gave it to her since it does good to her skin. *showing filial piety*
