Today I’m going to review another of the Urban Decay Holiday 2012 Collection palettes – The Fun Palette! (Click here for the review on the Feminine Palette). As the name suggests, this palette consists of really fun and vibrant colours for all you makeup junkies to play with! This is the perfect palette if you want to add some bright colours apart from the neutrals you wear every day and I love this palette as well for the purple and blue shadows.
The palette comes in a wallet-sized packaging that comes in really handy when you want to just pop into your bag. It is clothed in a ultra shimmery turqoise patent casing with gold zippers and just like the Feminine Palette, you can detach the palette from its casing to use the casing as a mini wallet/clutch.
I actually bought this palette together with the other two – Feminine and Dangerous, because I absolutely love the packaging and of course, they are limited edition as well. Being a marketer, I probably should know that these are marketing gimmicks that marketers use to attract consumers to purchase (especially using “Limited Edition” to inject the “Buy It Now!” factor), but I just couldn’t resist having my hands on these pretty little babies! 😀
So, this is what it is like when opened. The colourful graffiti-looking octopuses make the entire palette resemble the ocean and its wonders (similar to Pirates of the Caribbean). And of course, the Fun Palette comes with a mini lip junkie as well.
There are 6 eyeshadows in total, and there are a mixture of satin, metallic and shimmer colours in here.
Each eyeshadow is 0.03 oz (compared to an Urban Decay full-sized shadow at 0.05 oz) while the mini lip junkie is 0.11 oz (compared to the full-sized Lip Junkie at 0.34 oz).
Maui Wowie – Pale goldish taupe with silver micro-glitters
Deep End – Shimmery turqoise/teal
Sellout – Pale champagne Fishnet – Pinkish fuchsia with a blue/purple undertone Stray Dog – Metallic brown with copper undertone Freakshow – Deep royal metallic purple
As usual, Urban Decay’s eyeshadows are buttery smooth, creamy and vibrant. All shades will not cause fallout issues with the exception of Maui Wowie due to the specks of glitter.
Midnight Cowboy is shimmery gloss colour that imparts practically no colour at all. It would be nice using this on top of a lipstick to give it that extra shine and iridescence. Similar to Wallflower, the formula leaves a minty cooling sensation when applied.
The Fun Palette can be purchased at all Sephora SG stores and it retails for S$62 or alternatively, you can get it at Urban Decay’s website here. Bear in mind that Urban Decay does not directly ship to Singapore.
Hope you’ve enjoyed the review and let me know in the comments section what do you think of the Fun Palette! Will you pick it up? I will post the reviews of the last palette – The Dangerous Palette real soon!
