For once, you can hold your complaints about Singapore always being one of the last few countries to launch any makeup product. Get ready to perfect your skin with an unbelievably gorgeous glow that lasts, pretty much the entire day, even in Singapore’s hot tropical climate.
Let’s take a while to register that the Urban Decay Naked Skin Glow Cushion Compact Foundation is finally launched in Singapore… YAS, WE ARE THE FIRST COUNTRY TO LAUNCH THIS, and even the United States haven’t gotten a launch date yet!
The Formula
This revolutionary formula is described to provide a “weightless, buildable coverage with a luminous finish”, while keeping the skin hydrated for a whopping 18 hours! Hmm… well done for hydrating the skin for 18 hours but I’m sure that the skin wouldn’t be able to take wearing makeup for that long, and who wears makeup for 18 hours?! :O
Anyway, yes, the formula is very lightweight, and you get buildable coverage as you go along. However, the coverage is at best, medium. If you’re looking for extra coverage from this, then I suggest you look elsewhere. Otherwise, this is perfect for helping you to even out your skin tone with a natural luminous glow – the kind that you would get from having a good night’s rest. 😉
The Ingredients
Also in the formula are some skin-nourishing ingredients like:
- Rose Centifolia Flower Extract – toning and firming properties
- Gentian Root Extract – skin-soothing and antioxidant benefits
- Peppermint Extract – conditions skin
The Shades
There are altogether 6 shades at this point in time, mostly catered for light to medium skin tones:
- 75 – fair porcelain with golden undertone
- 25 – fair bisque with neutral undertone
- 5 – fair with subtle pink undertone
- 75 – fair with golden undertone
- 25 – light with neutral undertone [my shade]
- 5 – light with subtle pink undertone
I’m not sure if UD is going to extend the shade range to include medium to dark skin tones but I do hope so, given that many beauty brands are releasing foundations ranging from the very fair to very dark shades. At my medium skin tone, probably an NC30 for M.A.C., I’m already wearing the second darkest shade which is 3.25. I’m sure many tanner skin tones won’t be able to find a shade suitable for them.
The Verdict
I’ve put this beautiful cushion to a test for a couple of days and my verdict – I really love it! Now that my skin has drastically improved and I don’t have large pesky zits to cover, this is a dream to have on my vanity table. However, I know that given my skin condition a year ago, I’ll probably not be able to appreciate this as much as I will be busy finding the highest coverage foundation to cover all that redness.
Additionally, the formula provides SPF 50+ PA+++, which is really surprising for an Urban Decay product. The highest SPF for any UD foundation is SPF 20 for the Naked Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector, and I squealed for joy knowing that this cushion provides such a high SPF. It means you (technically) do not need to apply sunblock before patting on this cushion. It reduces the amount of time you need for your morning beauty routine which is a plus!
The Packaging
The cushion, with such a great fragrance-free formula, has to be gorgeously packaged too. The Naked Skin Glow Cushion Compact is housed in a beautiful iridescent lid which is reflective of its luminous velvety finish. In the light, you’ll find that it catches a lovely rainbow. There is also a piece of netting over the cushion for hygienic purposes so you don’t have to worry about the formula getting too exposed to the air, and the body is dressed in metallic lavender. There’s also an applicator puff too, in the signature UD shade of purple!
Do note that the refills are sold separately from the case, so you just gotta replace the cushion refill once it runs out.
The Urban Decay Naked Skin Glow Cushion Compact is available from September 14 at all Urban Decay Singapore Freestanding Stores and retails for SGD19 (case) and SGD40 (refill).
Create yourself and be gorgeous!
XOXO, Roanna.
