You know how sometimes you try a lot of skincare products that claim to provide you with brighter and clearer skin but you don’t see the results even after repeated use? I personally have hormonal acne and it causes hyper-pigmentation and acne scars regularly.
As a working adult, I’m also constantly battling with pressing deadlines at work so I’m always on a lookout for products that are fast and effective. I’ve tried so many things but I haven’t found anything that helps me battle my skin pigmentation until I encountered the Vichy Liftactiv Vitamin C Freshshot.
About more than a week ago, I started adding Vichy Liftactiv Vitamin C Freshshot into my skincare regime. It is a Vitamin C serum that claims to provide firmer and brighter skin with less fine lines in just 10 days. I was skeptical at the start but was also half convinced as 15% concentration of Vitamin C is one of the highest in the market.
About Vichy Liftactiv Vitamin C Freshshot
So what is this product exactly? The Vichy Liftactiv Vitamin C Freshshot is a facial serum that contains dermatological powerful active ingredients such as:
- 15% Pure Vitamin C, a potent anti-oxidant that reduces pigmentation & promotes collagen production and regeneration of Vitamin E
- Fragmented Hyaluronic Acid that hydrates and plumps up the skin
- Natural Neohesperidine, a soothing compound that reduces inflammation
A brown tinted little vial seals the formulation tightly to protect Vitamin C from oxidising. It also comes with a dropper tip for you to dispense the product.
Before trying, I enquired if it was safe for sensitive skin as my skin reacts to products from time to time. I was really glad to find out that the product has 0% fragrance, colourants, silicon, parabens and texturising agents that could irritate my skin. A huge plus point for sensitive skin users like me!
My First Impression
I decided to try it for 10 days to see how it works for me. Every night before bedtime, I dispense about 3-5 drops onto my palm and pat it onto my skin, particularly those areas with darker pigmentation (due to my hormonal acne scars).
The product is a light yellow-tinted liquid with a lightweight and slightly viscous texture that is absorbed into the skin really easily. The first time I tried to rub the product on my palms, I realised my hands absorbed the product before I could apply. Thus, you gotta act fast and I recommend pressing the product onto the skin and then dab higher concentrations onto the more pigmented areas and areas with fine lines if you have.
After 10 Days
I do feel that my skin became brighter and looks healthier, even without makeup. I could confidently sport a CC cream instead of my usual high coverage foundation when I head out. The pigmentation on my skin were indeed visibly lighter, though it wasn’t complete diminished! I wouldn’t expect it to make the spots vanish because it isn’t any miracle cure. However I’m confident that with constant use, my acne scars will improve over time. Pure Vitamin C is one of the best skincare ingredients against pigmentation and fine lines.
It’s rather rare for a good pure Vitamin C product to be available at an accessible price point. I’m glad Vichy came up with this innovation that modern busy city women like us can get at drugstores. So ladies, don’t compromise on your confidence. Get well-rested and young-looking skin no matter what life brings you!
The Vichy Liftactiv Vitamin C Freshshot retails for SGD52 for 10ml and is available at Guardian, Watsons and Lazada. Learn more about this powerful skin-loving product here.
