It’s a matter of how gracefully you age and how you keep yourself young, beautiful and fit, be it in the form of your daily exercise, skincare routine or whatever! Just do something to make yourself happy and you’ll naturally feel young just by smiling 🙂
To support the campaign, I have two products to talk about – the Kiehl’s Super Multi-Corrective Cream and the Super Multi-Corrective Eye-Opening Serum.
Don’t you already feel young looking at the spill from my parcel? It’s a bunch of colourful Kuti Kuti animal toys that we 90s kids used to play with! I only managed to keep a couple when I was young because I was never allowed to buy them. Now I have a huge bunch to enliven this post!
The Super Multi-Corrective Eye-Opening Serum is said to be formulated with botanically-derived Rhamnose and Sodium Hyaluronate to lift, firm, smooth, hydrate, and restore youthful shape of the eye. So, what do Rhamnose and Sodium Hyaluronate do for your skin?
Both complexes are actually humectants – substances that prevent loss of moisture by retaining the skin’s natural moisture/actively attracting moisture.
Rhamnose is a naturally occurring sugar and it has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and skin soothing properties whereas Sodium Hyaluronate is the sodium salt of Hyaluronic acid which can penetrate to the deeper layers of the skin to attract and retain water, and also to promote nutrient absorption. These properties are what we require to keep our skin young, supple and bouncy, hence are commonly used in anti-aging products.
My experience with this eye serum is reflected in the ingredients used in formulating this product. More than anything, this is a serum instead of the usual thick eye creams because it’s mostly made up of humectants to hydrate and soothe the skin. It takes some time to get absorbed by the skin due to its light watery texture so I usually gently massage around my eye area and tap on the areas for the eye serum to absorb faster. Even though this contains alcohol, it doesn’t feel drying or bother me.
When I first dispensed the product, I noticed that it has a subtle iridescent shimmer to it. Upon researching, I found that this contains skin illuminating minerals – light reflectors that help improve skin luminosity, instantly diminishes under-eye darkness and minimises the appearance of wrinkles.
Overall, I like this eye serum! It’s very lightweight and I don’t feel that my lids are heavy when this is applied. In terms of eye-opening effect, I feel that it makes my eyes look less tired, but I definitely have to use it for a while more before I see any concrete results. The plus points of this product is that it’s paraben-free, mineral-oil-free, fragrance-free, colourant-free, and suitable for sensitive eyes!
To complement the eye serum, the Super Multi-Corrective Cream for the face, has joined the range. It has the same signature purple and silver packaging like the eye serum.
So the Super Multi-Corrective Cream is a multi-targeted advanced anti-aging moisturiser that contains (information from Kiehl’s Singapore):
- Jasmonic Acid
- Inspired by “signal molecules” secreted by plants that begins a self-repair process – Corrects wrinkles and fine lines, loss of suppleness and elasticity
- Beech Tree Extract
- Sugar extracted from Beech Tree which helps improve skins overall firmness
- Fragmented Hyaluronic Acid
- A power booster, discovered to enhance Jasmonic Acid’s efficacy, super charging the improvement in skin elasticity and smoothness
I haven’t had long enough a trial to really review this product but a week of using gives me a rough idea of how this feels on my skin. It is said to be a smart solution for the skin with 5-in-1 benefits: lifting, firming, sculpting, contouring and skin-smoothing.
My initial thoughts on this cream is that it’s heavy and sticky, due to the viscosity of the product. However, surprisingly, it absorbs pretty quickly into the skin, instantly making the skin plumper and healthier, if you get what I mean. Some products just have the ability to make your skin feel that way. It made my skin feel brighter and smoother though, which I really adore!
My overall verdict? Get it if you’re in need of some anti-aging product! I’ve always believed in Kiehl’s products because they aren’t fancy about packaging which makes me feel that they pay more attention in terms of the ingredients they used in their formulation. What’s more, it’s paraben-free, fragrance-free and safe for sensitive skin!
