It has been a really really busy week with all the studying in school! Power 98 FM had been my study buddy for this entire period and I am really thankful for the good music that they provided me while I was trying to keep awake from the pile of notes!
On a lighter note, here’s a review of the Naked 2 palette from Urban Decay which I received as a present on my 20th birthday this year. I know that this is a pretty late one considering all other beauty bloggers such as Jen from frmheadtotoe.com and Temptalia have already done this last year but nevertheless, here goes!
The palette is available in all Sephora stores in Singapore for S$80 (hefty price tag I know so I’m thankful for my BFFs for this present) and on urbandecay.com and sephora.com for US$50.
The palette comes in a tin-styled container which reminds me of my pencil cases when I was younger and it comes with a mini Lip Junkie in the shade “Naked”. It has this really nice minty smell when I took it out from its plastic box.
This palette comes with a full-sized mirror as compared to the Naked palette. I really love how the palette snaps shut with the “click” sound and it’s great for travelling too! There are 12 different neutral shades in here, a couple of shimmers, glitters, satin-finishes and mattes and a dual-ended brush – the fluffy blending brush for the crease and for blending out colours and a flat shader brush for eyeshadow application.
The cute mini Lip Junkie included has a pretty purple and metallic grey filigree cap and the product is packed into the mini squeeze tube for easy application. When worn, the gloss gives a minty cool sensation on the lips! The swatch will be shown below.
Alright on to the actual palette. Here, you’ll be able to see 12 eyeshadows – 3 mattes (Foxy, Tease, Blackout) and the rest are shimmers/glitters etc. I think this palette is good for everyday use especially with 2 highlight shades Foxy and Bootycall, Tease for the crease colour and Blackout for setting the eyeliner.

Foxy – Matte cream colour good for highlighting the browbone
Half Baked – beautiful metallic gold
Bootycall – Shimmery satin champagne for brightening the inner corners
Chopper – Metallic rose gold with silvery glitters
Tease – Matte taupe with purple undertones for crease colour
Snakebite – Satin-finish deep bronze
Suspect – Shimmery satin light taupe
Pistol – Metallic gunmetal grey
Verve – Goooorgeous metallic silvery grey with a tint of pink
YDK – Shimmery taupish brown with glitters
Busted – Metallic deep plum brown
Blackout – Matte black
I have swatched all the colours on my hand and this is how the beautiful colours look like. I have to say that the photo doesn’t do justice to the rich pigments because the shades are just so shimmery and beautiful!
I do not have the original Naked palette but for starters like me, the Naked 2 makes a good palette because it is easier to start with neutral shades before you work with bright colours. I would say that the Naked 2 palette has served me well in all kinds of occasions especially the shades Foxy, Blackout and Verve. They are my everyday go-to colours and I absolutely loooooove them! Also, the dual-ended brush makes it easier to apply and blend the shades especially if you’re travelling.
