Define your style, define your lips with Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge Définition: Review & Swatches

Lancôme L'Absolu Rouge Définition
Tis’ the season to don bright, saturated lip colours to bring life to your makeup! With the Christmas season approaching, the trend of matte lipsticks is here to stay. You know me, I’m not a fan of matte lipsticks because of my dry lips. Much to my surprise, I’ve found my perfect matte formula for the lips – Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge Définition.
Encased in a classic black packaging with gold details, this demi-matte lipstick just spells luxury, isn’t it? The iconic Lancôme rose brings a touch of femininity to the casing too. Such a lovely gift for Christmas!

The L’Absolu Rouge Définition, as the name suggests, masters the art of highly-saturated lip colour for perfectly defined lips. This lipstick offers more than ever need – bold colour, smooth and precise application, longevity and a moisturising formula that’s suitable even for dry lips. Even without a lip balm, it stays on my lips for more than 6 hours, lasting through my breakfast and lunch. Apparently, the lipstick ensures comfort and moisture due to essential oils such as jojoba oil. I guess luxury products are worth every penny for their quality huh!

The 5 shades I have in the range are:
  • 184 Le Vermillion – bright red-orange
  • 195 Le Carmin – neutral classic red
  • 285 Le Sepia – dusty metallic rose pink
  • 294 Le Pourpre – deep berry burgundy
  • 388 Le Magenta – vivid hot pink

The lipstick is very true to the colour in the bullet as well as you can see from the arm swatches.
Comparing the bullet against the lips, you can better see how the colour transfers onto the lips. Do note that 294 Le Pourpre might be a little hard to apply evenly especially if you already have dryness on the lips. You can tell that the dry parts are darker than the other parts of the lips so be sure to exfoliate thoroughly if you love this deep berry shade.
Overall, I am quite obsessed with this lipstick ever since I first tried it! With the rich pigmentation, you may opt for an ombré effect by applying the colour in the middle of your lips before blending it out with your fingers. I usually do that if I want to sheer out the colour so that it doesn’t look too over the top.
My favourite is 294 Le Pourpre for this festive season. It’s gives you such a sophisticated vampy look, so sexy! What’s yours?
Create yourself and be gorgeous! ♡
XOXO, Roanna.
