I so agree with Michael Kors, the world-renowned, award-winning designer of luxury accessories, apparels and handbags. Just like how our jewelry complements outfits, fragrances complement one’s mood and fashion style too.
Michael Kors unveils the Gold Fragrance Collection – three scents designed to reflect the opulence and luxury of the highly-prized metal – from white, to rose and to 24k gold. I have with me the Michael Kors Rose Radiant Gold, a tantalising and hypnotic scent that’s appropriate for both day and night.
The three distinctive fragrances (all eau de parfum) at the heart of this collection were each carefully constructed, offering a scent for every occasion, mood and personal aesthetic.
- White Luminous Gold: Sparkling and sensuous, this is an intoxicating burst of pear, jasmine and amber in a bright and exotic signature.
- 24K Brilliant Gold: Feminine and seductive, this one shimmers with orange mandarin, voluptuous florals and a rousing spark of woodiness.
- Rose Radiant Gold: Tantalising and hypnotic, this entices with a spotlight on sparkling spice, textured with a charming femininity of rich florals and soft musks.
To complement the launch of the fragrance collection, Kors created fragrance bottles that mirror the aethestic of his sculptural and modern accessories as seen wearing on his muse, Karmen Pedaru, an Estonian model.
The scents that drew me towards their notes are 24K Brilliant Gold and Rose Radiant Gold. I love how classy and light 24K Brilliant Gold is but I don’t have it with me so I’ll be talking about Rose Radiant Gold.
“When a woman is feeling romantic, she reaches for rose gold,” says Michael Kors. Housed in a full reflective rose gold glass bottle, this gold bar (literally) exudes a level of class like no other. The fragrance explodes with warm sensuous spices followed by a wave of strong, rich floral notes before settling into its musky base notes.
After approximately half an hour, the spice fades into something more powdery and it can be a little overpowering so I would recommend to be light-handed on your initial application. For me, this is more of a night scent, something you would wear if you’re out for a dinner date/event, partying, or simply just hanging out at a bar with your friends after work. It is sure to amp up the elegance of your seductive dress. Pair it with some strong, bold accessories and you’re ready to dazzle!
I’ve never tried Michael Kors (MK) fragrances before and this sophisticated lady sure surprised me. The alluring notes in Radiant Rose Gold definitely made a dazzling introduction into the world of MK fragrances for me. However, it was slightly disappointing that the notes weren’t identified. I would love to know what goes into the spicy and floral notes individually to better understand the scent. The packaging, though symbolises class and elegance, is unfortunately a magnet for fingerprints. One can’t complain that much about pretty packaging, right? 😉
