MAC Cosmetics x Brooke Shields Collection: Review & Swatches

I’ve always been a lover of eyeshadows ever since I made contact with them, especially rich hues like the violets, greens and burgundies. I love playing around with the colour spectrum, you may put it, and more often than not when it comes to picking eyeshadow palettes, the brighter and more vibrant shades usually catch my attention faster than the neutrals. However, having exposed to the various collections MAC Cosmetics launched this year, I picked up some things from the MAC x Brooke Shields collection that weren’t what I normally would. It was nice to have a change from the usual – some mature, everyday neutrals to add into my collection. I picked up a lipstick in Gospel and the Mortal Veluxe Pearlfusion Eyeshadow Palette.

About 2 decades ago, iconic makeup artist and photographer, François Nars, launched a product line of 12 lipsticks at Barneys New York. 20 years later, the trendsetting company responsible for cult-classic shades (Orgasm, Deep Throat etc.) celebrates its 20th anniversary as a beauty powerhouse by launching The Audacious Lipstick Collection with impressive 40 new shades of charismatic colour – Modern lipsticks so shamelessly seductive in touch and texture, the sensation is audacious.

The pigment-rich lipsticks boasts of unadulterated luxury and glide on like satin across the lips with a single-stroke coverage. A spectrum of 40 shades for unstoppable impact, ranging from loud pinks, neutral hues, to deep reds and violets. Goodbye September, here comes a new month again! As always, at the end of every month, I love to summarise my beauty favourites for the month because it allows me to share the products that I have been loving for the entire month (well, almost).

Well, for me, September has been experimenting with lots of new products again, due to a swap box I did and many other purchases as well. Basically, I have been loving face finishing products and a variety of colours for different looks. I am also using a little cute red ethnic-looking bowl as a decoration to this spread.

It’s such a lazy Monday for me at home today hence I decided to pick up some of my favourite nude lipsticks to review. I haven’t been reaching out for brights and vibrants these days, probably because I wasn’t feeling at my best but nevertheless, I found some really pretty nudes that I’m starting to love! August 2014 Beauty Favourites: Review

It’s the end of the month of August now and it’s time for August 2014 beauty favourites!

August has been packed with lots and lots of purchases from everywhere (Sephora, the recent Net-A-Porter free shipping etc..). Surprisingly, my favourites this month doesn’t include any of the new purchases because I really wanted to use the things I bought actively for exactly or more than a month to really test the efficacy of the products. Many a times we keep getting new things to play with that we don’t really reach out for a product more than 2-3 times, let alone give a full in-depth review. Thus, I am proud to say that I have been using my favourites so diligently this month that I don’t even realise I’m using them every day! 😀

Without further ado, let’s jump right into my skincare favourites followed by the makeup ones!

For skincare this month (or rather these 2 months), I have been loving my entire skincare range from Kiehl’s! Having acne-prone skin can be quite a headache as it is really not easy to tame the inflamed skin while trying to control acne formation. 3 products that have particularly improved my skin condition drastically are the Blue Herbal Gel Cleanser, Dermatologist Solutions Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution and Dermatologist Solutions Blemish Control Daily Skin-Clearing Treatment. Oh my what a mouthful. The names are way too long.
